teams meetings recordings: 60-day expiry

So, just found out that any new meeting recordings made within Microsoft Teams, and stored on OneDrive and SharePoint will automatically expire after sixty (60) days.

Yep, this is based on what I’m seeing with my test tenant, and also this Microsoft announcement on their RoadMap – just click here.

Here is the screenshot of the entry (if you can’t be bothered to click on the link) –

Announcement about auto expiration of Meeting Recordings in Teams

Please notice that it only applies for new meetings being made (well on my tenant) AND that Teams admins can change the default meeting recording timeout in the TAP.

And for all those who use them, compliance policies override the Teams settings.

Have fun!
