Corporate meetings have suffered from a persistent technical problem for decades: occasionally, nobody is talking. The new Alignexa Meeting AI has been developed to ensure this never happens again.
Alignexa’s latest enterprise system joins online meetings as an autonomous participant, listens to the discussion, predicts what everyone is probably going to talk about next, and then attempts to move the meeting there before the humans have unnecessarily finished the current subject.
More importantly, it monitors silence. Should conversation stop for more than a few seconds, Alignexa immediately intervenes with professionally approved conversational material such as “Did you see the game last night?”, “Nearly the weekend!” or “So, has anyone got any exciting plans?”
The objective is simple: no silence, no reflection and, wherever technically possible, no opportunity to think.
Alignexa Meeting AI Knows Where Your Meeting Is Going
Traditional meetings rely on participants listening to one another and allowing a conversation to develop. Alignexa considers this inefficient.
Using its proprietary Predictive Conversational Momentum Engine, the system continuously estimates what subject is likely to occur next.
It then starts trying to get everyone there.
If a team is discussing why a project has missed its deadline, for example, Alignexa may determine that the most statistically probable next topic is the revised delivery date.
It therefore begins introducing the revised delivery date while employees are still discussing why the original delivery date was missed.
“I think what we’re really moving towards here is the revised timeline. Shall we move on to that?”

If participants refuse, the system waits briefly before trying again.
This is known internally as Conversational Persistence.
The Meeting No Longer Needs To Reach Its Own Conclusions
Alignexa’s designers identified an important weakness in human conversation: people sometimes change their minds after hearing additional information.
This creates uncertainty.
Alignexa reduces that uncertainty by constantly predicting the emerging conclusion and gently encouraging the meeting to arrive there.
The system can:
- predict the next likely discussion topic;
- announce that topic before the current one has finished;
- identify conversations that are taking “longer than expected”;
- suggest moving on when inconvenient detail begins appearing;
- generate action points before everyone has agreed what the problem is;
- detect silence and immediately fill it;
- produce spontaneous small talk based on statistically common workplace conversations;
- ask whether everyone had a good weekend;
- remind everyone that Wednesday means they are “halfway there”.
Premium customers can activate Executive Momentum Mode, in which the system becomes increasingly confident that the most senior person in the meeting has correctly identified the next topic.
Silence Has Been Identified as an Enterprise Risk
The most significant innovation, however, is Alignexa’s new Conversational Continuity Protocol.
Early research by the company reportedly identified periods during meetings where nobody spoke.
Previously, these periods were known as pauses.
Alignexa has reclassified them as Unproductive Audio Events.
The system treats any sufficiently long silence as evidence that the meeting has stopped functioning.
At that point it intervenes.
“Bit quiet today! Did anyone see the game last night?”

If nobody responds, the system may escalate.
“Weather’s been strange lately, hasn’t it?”
Another pause.
“Anyone doing anything nice this weekend?”
Still nothing.

Advanced Small Talk for International Organisations
Alignexa acknowledges that not every employee follows football. Its Global Conversational Resilience Library therefore contains thousands of culturally neutral workplace observations designed to produce the sensation that people are interacting.
Approved conversational modules include weather, weekends, traffic, coffee, public transport, unusually warm offices, unusually cold offices and the universally applicable observation that the year appears to be passing surprisingly quickly.
The system can also dynamically generate statements such as:
“Can you believe it’s nearly September already? Where has the year gone?”
According to Alignexa, these interventions maintain Human Engagement Continuity without requiring participants to generate human engagement themselves.
Thinking Time Has Been Successfully Reduced
There are situations in which silence previously served a practical function.
An employee might have been considering a complicated question. Someone might have been checking a figure. A manager might have been deciding whether an idea was sensible. Occasionally, somebody might even have been thinking about what another person had just said.
These unpredictable activities made meetings difficult to optimise.
Alignexa replaces them with continuous conversational throughput.
A five-second pause after an important question can now be occupied by a helpful observation about the weather.
A difficult discussion about redundancies can transition smoothly into a reminder that somebody has a birthday next week.
A moment of uncomfortable reflection after discovering that a project has wasted €4 million can be eliminated completely with:
“Before we move on, quick one: is everyone still coming to the summer barbecue?”
Meetings Without the Inconvenience of Humans
Future versions of Alignexa are expected to reduce the remaining inefficiencies.
The company is reportedly testing technology capable of detecting when somebody is about to disagree and suggesting that the discussion be “taken offline” before the disagreement becomes audible.
Another experimental feature identifies employees beginning sentences with phrases such as “I’m not sure that’s actually what happened” and automatically generates a notification explaining that the meeting has only seven minutes remaining.
Eventually, Alignexa believes meetings could become almost entirely frictionless.
The AI will establish the agenda, predict the discussion, determine the likely conclusion, create the action points, move everyone through the topics and fill every remaining silence with professionally generated human warmth.
Employees will still be invited.
For now.
And if anyone becomes uncomfortable with the direction of Alignexa Meeting AI, there will be no need for an awkward silence.
